The Army Junior Cadet Corps was funded on the 7th of May 1997. Located at Barrington Elementary, AISD. Twenty-five students from 4th and 5th grade were picked to become members of the after school program. The program was extended to Webb Middle School, AISD so that these students would have an opportunity to continue their leadership development.
The program moved forward to include 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Other Middle Schools followed with Junior Cadet Programs. The program has extended to include students from Lanier High School, Reagan High School, McCallum High School, AISD and Connelly High School,PISD. From the first twenty five cadets we have grown to 300 cadets & plus still growing. We take pride in knowing that we have helped in the development of our youth, guiding and supporting their needs from Elementary through High School and beyond.
